Blaze Pixelmon Beginner Guide

New to Blaze Gaming's Pixelmon server? A beginner guide to your first hour: starter, /rtp, a home, a land claim, daily Bingo, votes and legendary spawns.

On our wiki, we use the following icons when features are restricted in some way. Below are the icons and what they mean:

  • Blaze Modpack Required

  • Discord Server Exclusive

  • Cobblemon Server Exclusive

  • Pixelmon Server Exclusive

Welcome to our Pixelmon server Pixelmon Server Exclusive. This beginner guide takes you through your first hour, then your first week. Haven't joined yet? Follow How to Join a Pixelmon Server, or install Pixelmon Plus+ with our Modpack Installation Guide and connect to pixel.mc-blaze.com.

Your first hour

1

Collect your first-join rewards Blaze Modpack Required

If you joined with Pixelmon Plus+, you get one-time rewards automatically on your first join: a Master Ball, a Pokémon Spin and 16 Rare Candies.

2

Choose your starter

The starter screen opens when you first join and stays open until you choose, so pick your first partner Pokémon.

3

Visit the Information Center

Type /warp info to visit the Information Center at spawn. Its boards list the main commands, and /blazeinfo explains our features.

4

Head out and set a home

Type /rtp to teleport to a random spot in the survival world, or use the Travel Agency at /warp travelagency. When you find a place you like, type /sethome [name], and get back any time with /home [name].

5

Claim your land

Type /kit claim to get the claiming tool and protect your base. Don't claim or build within 25 blocks of someone else's claim. See Land Claims.

6

Fill in today's Bingo

Type /bingo to open today's card. Every slot, line and full card gives rewards, and there's a new card every day. See Bingo.

7

Vote for free rewards

Type /vote for the vote links. Every vote gives you a Vote Crate key, a Vote Point, 50 claim blocks, coins and flight time. See Voting.

8

Stay active for legendaries

Every hour there's a chance a legendary spawns on a random active (non-AFK) player, so stay active. /lastlegend shows the latest spawns.

A legendary spawned on me. What now?

You get one hour of protection, so no one else can take it from you in that time. Heal your team first (/warp heal, then /back to return), bring plenty of Poké Balls, and go catch it. Don't want a legendary you've caught? Put it in the Legend Pool (/lpool) for a chance at a new spawn. See Legendary Spawning.

Your first week

  • Fill in your Pokédex. /dex collects rewards as you go. On Pixelmon, 30% completion unlocks both the Nether and the End.

  • Train your team. Level up at /warp levelgrinder, EV-train at /warp ev and heal at /warp heal. Check a Pokémon's stats with /ivs [slot] and /evs [slot].

  • Start breeding. Use the Day Care blocks at /warp daycare. Pokémon need items that depend on their types before they'll breed, and /breedingguide lists them. Our Pixelmon Breeding Guide has the rest.

  • Earn coins. /warp money shows ways to make money, /shop opens the server shop, and the Global Trade System (/gts) lets you buy and sell with other players.

  • Try Modifiers to change a Pokémon's nature, ability, IVs or shininess. /modifierinfo lists them all (see Modifiers).

  • Join a PokéHunt with /hunt, and claim daily and playtime rewards with /daily and /ptr.

  • Come to an event. We run community events Wednesday to Sunday at Event Island (/warp eventisland), plus the Mega Monthly Tournament (MMT). Announcements are on our Discord.

Good to know

  • Keep inventory is on, so you keep your items when you die.

  • Difficulty is Peaceful on our Pixelmon server, and PokéRus is enabled.

  • Your coins, Blazebux and items stay on this server, but Vote Points work on both our servers.

  • Mega Evolution is on our Pixelmon server. Our Cobblemon server doesn't have it.

  • Terastallization and Tera Raids came with Pixelmon 9.4. Pixelmon's research quests unlock a Tera Orb, and Tera dens in our Resource World (type /rtp and pick it) host raids for up to four players. See Terastallization & Tera Raids.

  • Worlds: besides the Overworld (15,000 × 15,000 blocks), the Nether and the End, there's a Resource World, Ultra Space and the Drowned World. See Server Information for every world border.

What's free and what's in the store

Blaze is free to play. Our optional store sells ranks, crate keys, spin bundles, Blazebux and gift cards. Ranks come with one-time rewards and add perks like permanent flight (from the fifth rank up), extra player vaults, donor kits and commands like /heal, /smelt and /sell, and some ranks get more Day Care blocks. Type /ranks to see what each rank includes. Crate keys from the store can give rewards like legendaries, shinies, Modifiers and training items, and spin bundles contain Shiny, Legendary and Shiny Legendary Spins. For everything the store does and doesn't sell, see Server Currencies & Ranks.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Going AFK and hoping for a legendary. AFK players are skipped for legendary spawns.

  2. Building before you claim. Claim your base with /kit claim before you build.

  3. Releasing legendaries you don't want. Put them in the Legend Pool instead, for a chance at a new one.

  4. Skipping the modpack. Pixelmon Plus+ comes with our resource pack, including our custom Pokémon skins, and first-join rewards.

  5. Claiming land someone else is using. Don't claim or build within 25 blocks of another player's claim, and don't claim land that belongs to another player, even if they haven't claimed it yet.
