# How to Join a Cobblemon Server

How to join a Cobblemon server: install the free Cobblemon Plus+ modpack, then connect to cobble.mc-blaze.com on Minecraft Java 1.21.1. No Bedrock.

**Short answer:** to join a Cobblemon server you need Minecraft: Java Edition, Cobblemon with the same Minecraft and Cobblemon versions as the server, and the server's address. #### Get Minecraft: Java Edition

Cobblemon is a Java Edition mod, so you need a paid Minecraft: Java Edition account on a PC, Mac or Linux computer.

#### Install a free launcher

Use the [Modrinth App](https://modrinth.com/app) or the [CurseForge app](https://www.curseforge.com/download/app). The Modrinth App is the quickest, because our Modrinth server page installs the modpack and adds the server in one go.

#### Install Cobblemon Plus+

* **Modrinth App:** open [Blaze Cobblemon on Modrinth](https://modrinth.com/server/blaze-gaming) and press **Play**. On Modrinth, our modpack is called Blaze Cobblemon.
* **CurseForge:** open [Cobblemon Plus+ on CurseForge](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/cobblemon-plus-pack) and press **Install**.

#### Launch and join

Press **Play**, open **Multiplayer** and join **Blaze Gaming**. It's already in your server list. If it isn't, choose **Add Server** and enter <code class="expression">space.vars.COBBLEMON\_DIRECT\_IP</code>. If your list shows a different mc-blaze.com address (Modrinth adds its own), that's fine: all our addresses reach the same network.

Playing with our modpack gives you one-time rewards the first time you join: a Master Ball, a Pokémon Spin and 16 Rare Candies, given to you automatically. Then check the [Command List](/info-pages/command-list.md) to find your way around.

## Can I join without the modpack?

Yes. You need Cobblemon itself, but not our modpack. Any Cobblemon client on Fabric with the same Minecraft and Cobblemon versions as our server can join. Cobblemon also comes for NeoForge, but our server needs the Fabric version. When you join, the server offers you our resource pack: accept it to see our custom models and textures (see [Resource Pack](/info-pages/resource-pack.md)). You'll miss the modpack's first-join rewards, and you'll need to update Cobblemon yourself whenever we do.

## Which Minecraft version does Cobblemon use?

Cobblemon <code class="expression">space.vars.COBBLEMON\_VERSION</code> is made for Minecraft Java <code class="expression">space.vars.COBBLEMON\_MC\_VERSION</code>. The newer Minecraft 26.x releases and 1.21.10 or 1.21.11 won't connect, so if your launcher picked a newer Minecraft, set it back to Minecraft <code class="expression">space.vars.COBBLEMON\_MC\_VERSION</code> or launch through our modpack. [Server Information](/info-pages/server-information.md) always shows our current versions.

## Playing Cobblemon Academy 2.0 or Cobbleverse?

Those are different modpacks with their own mods and versions, so they can't connect to our server. You don't have to give them up: install Cobblemon Plus+ alongside them in the same launcher, and your single-player worlds stay exactly where they are. Your single-player progress can't be moved onto our server, so you'll start your adventure fresh on Blaze.

## Play Cobblemon with friends for free

You don't need to rent a server to play Cobblemon with friends. Everyone installs Cobblemon Plus+ and joins Blaze, then:

* `/tpa [player]` asks to teleport to a friend, and `/tpahere [player]` asks them to come to you.
* `/trust [player]` lets a friend build in your land claim.
* The [Global Trade System](/features/global-trade-system.md) (`/gts`) and [Wonder Trade](/features/global-trade-system.md#wonder-trade) let you trade with anyone on the server.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Cobblemon free?

Yes. Cobblemon and our Cobblemon Plus+ modpack are free, and so is playing on Blaze. You need Minecraft: Java Edition. Our store is optional.

### Can I join with TLauncher or a cracked account?

No. Our servers need a paid Minecraft: Java Edition account, so TLauncher and other cracked or offline launchers can't join. There's no whitelist: any paid Java account on the right version can join.

### Can I play Cobblemon on Bedrock, Xbox, PS5, Switch or mobile?

No. Cobblemon only runs on Minecraft: Java Edition on a computer (Windows, Mac or Linux), and so does our server. Apps and add-ons that call themselves "Cobblemon" for Bedrock, phones or consoles aren't made by the Cobblemon team.

### Does the server have every Pokémon?

Yes. Our Cobblemon server has every Pokémon from generations 1 to 9, through our custom datapacks and [resource pack](/info-pages/resource-pack.md).

### Does the Cobblemon server have Mega Evolution?

No. Cobblemon doesn't have Mega Evolution yet. On Blaze, Megas are on our Pixelmon server <img src="https://2752420689-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F97bxQeDEbdsPHKQYjy8g%2Fuploads%2FdnowUpS7V9pD7ZvFOI32%2Fpixelmon.webp?alt=media&amp;token=33be6777-ff09-446b-b95a-705e0ae559b1" alt="Pixelmon Server Exclusive" data-size="line">. ### How do legendaries work on the server?

Every hour there's a chance a legendary spawns on a random active (non-AFK) player, who gets one hour of protection to catch it. See [Legendary Spawning](/info-pages/legendary-spawning.md).
