# How to Join a Pixelmon Server

How to join a Pixelmon server: install the free Pixelmon Plus+ modpack or Pixelmon 9.4.1 on NeoForge, then connect to pixel.mc-blaze.com on Minecraft 1.21.1.

**Short answer:** to join a Pixelmon server you need Minecraft: Java Edition, Pixelmon Reforged on the same version as the server, and the server's address. The easiest way onto our Pixelmon server <img src="https://2752420689-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F97bxQeDEbdsPHKQYjy8g%2Fuploads%2FdnowUpS7V9pD7ZvFOI32%2Fpixelmon.webp?alt=media&amp;token=33be6777-ff09-446b-b95a-705e0ae559b1" alt="Pixelmon Server Exclusive" data-size="line"> is our free **Pixelmon Plus+** modpack on CurseForge: install it, press **Play**, and Blaze Gaming is already in your server list. You can also add <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_DIRECT\_IP</code> yourself.

**Installing Pixelmon yourself? Pick version** <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_VERSION</code>**.** Any other Pixelmon version, older or newer, won't match our server, and you'll get a version error when you join. On reforged.gg, our version may be the one labelled Beta, not Recommended. Pixelmon Plus+ always installs the right version.

#### Get Minecraft: Java Edition

Pixelmon is a Java Edition mod, so you need a paid Minecraft: Java Edition account on a PC, Mac or Linux computer.

#### Install the free CurseForge app

Download the [CurseForge app](https://www.curseforge.com/download/app), install it, and sign in or continue as a guest.

#### Install Pixelmon Plus+

Open [Pixelmon Plus+ on CurseForge](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/the-pixelmon-plus) and press **Install**, or search **Pixelmon Plus** under **Browse** in the app. It's about 500 MB, so give it a minute.

#### Launch and join

Press **Play**, open **Multiplayer** and join **Blaze Gaming**. It's already in your server list. If it isn't, choose **Add Server** and enter <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_DIRECT\_IP</code>.

Playing with Pixelmon Plus+ gives you one-time rewards the first time you join: a Master Ball, a Pokémon Spin and 16 Rare Candies, given to you automatically. Then check the [Command List](/info-pages/command-list.md) to find your way around.

## Can I join without the modpack?

Yes. You need Pixelmon itself, but not our modpack. Any Pixelmon Reforged client on NeoForge with the same Pixelmon and Minecraft versions as our server can join. Download Pixelmon <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_VERSION</code> (not an older or newer build) and the NeoForge version its download page lists. When you join, the server offers you our resource pack. That version leaves out our custom Pokémon skins because of a size limit, so to see them, play with Pixelmon Plus+ or download the full pack from [pixelrp.mc-blaze.com](https://pixelrp.mc-blaze.com) (see [Resource Pack](/info-pages/resource-pack.md)). You'll also miss the modpack's first-join rewards.

## Using the Pixelmon Reforged launcher?

The Pixelmon Reforged launcher may install a different Pixelmon version unless you choose one. Pick Pixelmon <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_VERSION</code> so it matches our server, or install Pixelmon Plus+ instead: it always installs the right version, and only Pixelmon Plus+ gets our first-join rewards.

## Which Pixelmon version do I need?

Our server runs Pixelmon Reforged <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_VERSION</code> on NeoForge, Minecraft Java <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_MC\_VERSION</code>. Pixelmon doesn't run on Fabric, and the newer Minecraft 26.x releases and 1.21.10 or 1.21.11 won't connect. [Server Information](/info-pages/server-information.md) always shows our current versions.

## Played on Blaze before?

Blaze has hosted Pixelmon since the Minecraft 1.12 days, and today's server is the **Storm V** season on Minecraft <code class="expression">space.vars.PIXELMON\_MC\_VERSION</code>. Old versions of our modpack or of Pixelmon won't connect, so install Pixelmon Plus+ fresh. A few things work differently now: for example, breeding uses Day Care blocks instead of Ranch Blocks, and on Blaze you'll find them at `/warp daycare`. Ask in our Discord about anything from an old season.

## Play Pixelmon with friends for free

You don't need to rent a server to play Pixelmon with friends. Everyone installs Pixelmon Plus+ and joins Blaze, then:

* `/tpa [player]` asks to teleport to a friend, and `/tpahere [player]` asks them to come to you.
* `/trust [player]` lets a friend build in your land claim.
* The [Global Trade System](/features/global-trade-system.md) (`/gts`) and [Wonder Trade](/features/global-trade-system.md#wonder-trade) let you trade with anyone on the server.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Pixelmon still updated?

Yes. Pixelmon Reforged still gets regular updates. When our server moves to a new version, we update Pixelmon Plus+ and post a heads-up in our Discord.

### Can I join with TLauncher or a cracked account?

No. Our servers need a paid Minecraft: Java Edition account, so TLauncher and other cracked or offline launchers can't join. There's no whitelist: any paid Java account on the right version can join.

### Can I play Pixelmon on Bedrock, Xbox, PS5, Switch or mobile?

No. Pixelmon only runs on Minecraft: Java Edition on a computer (Windows, Mac or Linux), and so does our server.

### Does the Pixelmon server have Mega Evolution?

Yes. Mega Evolution is on our Pixelmon server. Cobblemon doesn't have Megas yet. See [Cobblemon vs Pixelmon](/info-pages/cobblemon-vs-pixelmon.md).

### Does the Pixelmon server have Terastallization and Tera Raids?

Yes, since our move to Pixelmon 9.4. Unlock a Tera Orb through Pixelmon's research quests, and your Pokémon can Terastallize in battle to take on their Tera Type. Tera Raids let up to four players battle a Terastallized boss together at a Tera den. You'll find Tera dens in our Resource World, which resets from time to time: type `/rtp` and pick the Resource World. ### Which Pokémon are on the Pixelmon server?

Every Pokémon from generations 1 to 9. Pixelmon 9.4 added the last of them, including Ogerpon, Terapagos and Pecharunt.

### How do legendaries work on the server?

Every hour there's a chance a legendary spawns on a random active (non-AFK) player, who gets one hour of protection to catch it. See [Legendary Spawning](/info-pages/legendary-spawning.md).
